Waste paper and card are widely recycled. The higher the quality of the paper and the less it’s been recycled, the better the quality of product it can be recycled into.

Glass Recycling

Glass bottles and jars are widely recycled. Glass is 100% recyclable. As such, glass containers for food and beverages are 100% recyclable, although not with other types of glass, manufactured through a different process. If these materials are introduced into the glass container manufacturing process, they can cause production problems.

Plastic Recycling

Some plastics are widely recycled. Most drinks bottles are made from #1 PET: Polyethylene Terephthalate which is 100% recyclable. #2 HDPE: High-Density Polyethylene is widely used in the UK for fresh milk bottles, shampoo and detergent bottles and is also recyclable.

Aluminium and steel cans are widely recycled. Recycled aluminium has exactly the same properties as new – but takes just five per cent of the energy to produce.
